Subject: Changes to Episcopal Services Language - BAS

Moved By: Fred Hiltz from the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

Seconded By: Peter Wall from the Diocese of Niagara

Note: The mover and the seconder must be members of the General Synod and be present in the House when the resolution is before the synod for debate.

BE IT RESOLVED:

That this General Synod authorize changes to the Episcopal Services in the Book of Alternative Services to reflect gender inclusivity.

EXPLANATORY NOTE/BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Book of Alternative Services uses exclusively masculine pronouns when referring to the bishop.
